Espanyol is not closing its squad and Monchi, the club's director general, does not rule out the possibility of new signings before the league opener against Levante on Sunday at the RCDE Stadium. However, during his press conference on Wednesday, alongside the presentation of Unai Nuñez, the head of the sports department wanted to downplay the importance of operations being finalized before the match.

Monchi acknowledged that there are still reinforcements to arrive, but emphasized that signings should not become an obsession. "It may be" that there are new incorporations, Monchi recognized, although he also made it clear that signings should not change the team's performance. "It won't change the team's performance because a player or two arrives. We must trust in the base we have", he explained in the press conference held on Wednesday at the RCDE Stadium.
