Special Tribute to the Late Captain

RCD Espanyol paid tribute to their former captain Dani Jarque on Saturday with a special act. A wax statue of the player has been placed in the RCDE Stadium, which will be permanently integrated into the collection at Barcelona's Wax Museum starting from October.

The statue is the result of collaboration between Barcelona's Wax Museum, RCD Espanyol Foundation, and Màgic Díaz, representing both the player and his family. This tribute forms part of the traditional floral tributes that are offered in memory of Jarque.

Pre-Game Ceremony

Before traveling to England for an amistoso against Coventry, the players and first-team staff paid a floral tribute and observed a minute's silence in honor of Dani Jarque on Friday. This act was carried out just before the match.

On August 8, 2009, Dani Jarque passed away during pre-season training in Coverciano due to a heart attack. The periquita fans remember their captain with a standing ovation and the opening of door number 21 at every game, a tribute to his jersey number.
