Espanyol’s Preseason: Final Test Against Coventry

The Blanquiazul Team Faces Coventry (18.30/Esport 3) Before LaLiga EA Sports 2026/27 Debut

Coventry, recently promoted to the Premier League after 25 years away from English football’s top division, will face RCD Espanyol under coach Manolo González in a final preseason test on Saturday (18.30 hours/Esport 3) before the team's LaLiga EA Sports 2026/27 debut against Levante at RCDE Stadium next Saturday at 19:00.

After victories over Olot (0-3) and Pau FC (4-0), and draws with Sabadell (1-1), Burnley (2-2), and Middlesbrough (3-3), this will be the sixth and final friendly of a preseason where Espanyol has remained unbeaten so far. The team is showing room for improvement in certain areas but also competitiveness that gives fans reason to be optimistic.

30 Players Called Up by Manolo González

Manolo González has selected 30 players for the trip to England. Regarding the match against Middlesbrough, Pablo Ramón is out due to a transfer to Racing de Santander; Kike García is injured; and Rubén Sánchez will not be part of the immediate future plans at RCDE Stadium. Additionally, there's a debut for new signing Unai Nuñez, along with seven players from the youth team: Arnau Casas, Xavi Rufo, Ferran Gomez, Miguel Londoño, Jan Peries, Víctor Mullerat, and Denis Cruz. However, these players are on the list not to play this afternoon's match but for another friendly that will take place this morning at Coventry’s training ground, closed to the public mainly featuring reserve team players from both clubs.
